Armored Trooper Votoms : Supreme Survivor

This starts with a secret mission involving an AT pilot named Chirico Cuvie which goes wrong. He sees something he shouldn't have and becomes a fugitive who escapes to Uoodo city. Here he meets Gotho, Vanilla, and Coconna, three black market, wheeler and dealer types that end up helping him out, and vice versa. He also comes across the very item he was not supposed to have seen on that mission, chaos ensues...
