Comic Party - A New World (Vol. 1) - with Series Box

Quiet, well intentioned high school senior Kazuki gets euchred into creating a comic by his friend Taishi, who envisions a worldwide empire of doujinshi, with himself as Emperor. Kazuki pays a price for this new interest, the time he spends on his comic infuriates his girlfriend Mizuki, and the fan conventions expose him to all sorts of weirdoes, from feuding artists to the Japanese equivalent of the Comic Book Guy. The series includes numerous references to well-known manga and anime.
