Banner of the Stars continues the space saga from Crest of the Stars as depicted in the best-selling novel by Hiroyuki Morioka picking up the story three years after the conclusion of the first series. Caught within the intergalactic struggle is a lone human, Jinto, and the Abh Princess, Lafiel. Human noble Jinto Lin continues to declare he will always remain at the side of Abh princess Lafiel, although she generally treats him with scorn. Lafiel is now Deca-Commander of the spaceship Basroil, as supply officer, Jinto follows her into their first battle.
